‘Our Place’ – a community arts project focused on Darlington – is looking for people to take part to promote good mental health, exercise and most importantly creativity. It is open to all and is funded by Creative Darlington and ACE.

Want to give meaning and purpose to your daily walk? In these strange times, leaving the house at least once a day and getting some fresh air is important to many people. Join the event organisers in a range of weekly creative tasks and really ‘see’ your surroundings; use these discoveries to reflect on your life and experiences in Darlington.

Where do our paths cross or perhaps diverge? Who knows? The project aims to discover this during four online workshops, each lasting around one hour.

The aim is to contribute to a bigger project called ‘It’s All Happening Here’ (organised by OddManOut theatre company) and create a live celebratory trail around the town. This project’s contribution will possibly be a piece weaving together footage of Darlington captured through street view, overlaid with spoken word gathered from letters, poems, diary entries or just fragments of thoughts.
