Six-In-A-Bar star at Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club on 2nd June. The band was formed 12 years ago and plays music from the 1920s/1930s jazz age, and is considered one of the most innovative and professional bands in the UK.
The line-up is Willy Entwistle of the Temperance Severn on reeds, violin, flageolet and arrangements, Pete Eddowes, percussion, Chris Howes, banjo, tenor guitar and vocals, Colin Turner, bass saxophone and double Bb tuba along with Phil Lucas, trumpet and flugal horn.
Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club has been promoting live jazz in the town since 1996. From ragtime to swing, through the hot dance music of the 1920s, to the revivalist years and the “traddy pop” of the 1950s and 1960s, with perhaps some be-bop and jive, we try to provide a programme with something for everyone.
