Cockerton Silver Band is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

The original group Cockerton Saxhorn Band was formed in 1863. In 1870, the band became Cockerton Prize Silver Band as it is known today, and in 1880 it moved into a new rehearsal room at Cockerton Cocoa Palace.

The band takes part in a number of competitions and concerts during the year an has won many awards.

This concert starts 7.30pm (doors open 7pm) and includes guest soloist Professor Roger Webster who has played principal cornet in several of the countries top brass bands over the past three decades.

Peter Barron and Chris Lloyd from The Northern Echo will host the evening.
