The Concert will to be given by a cellist, Toby White and a pianist, Ryan Druker. They will be playing pieces by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich & Britten.
Toby White completed his master’s degree with distinction from the Guildhall School and Music & Drama in 2017. Over the last 3 years Toby has been a regular performer at the Mendelssohn on Mull chamber festival. In July 2016 Toby made his radio 3 debut as part of the pre-concert proms. He has also received many awards including the Help Musicians UK Fleming Award. Other highlights include recent performances of Schumann piano trio no. 1, Elgar piano quintet and Bach’s ‘The Musical Offering’ with a quartet at the Kings Place, London.
Ryan Druker performed at the Wigmore Hall at the age of sixteen, and has played in many distinguished venues since both in the UK and also Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. He has also had a live performance broadcast on BBC radio 3. Previously Ryan graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music In recent years Ryan has won 1st prize in both Brant International Piano Competition and the piano category of the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artist Competition. Alongside his solo success, he is an avid chamber musician.He is a member of the Johannes Piano Quartet and has a duo partnership with Akiko Goto.
