About the performers:

The Pelleas Ensemble was formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011. They recently won the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Henderson Chamber Ensemble Award playing with ‘verve and polish’ (The Times), and in 2017 they won the Elias Fawcett Award for Outstanding Chamber Ensemble at the Royal Overseas League competition. Their Wigmore Hall debut was praised for its ‘captivating vitality’ and ‘effortlessness and delicacy’. Luba Tunnucliffe (viola) has performed for the Darlington Music Society in January 2018 giving an excellent concert.

During their visit to Darlington, they will be making a special appearance at the Queen Elizabeth Sixth-form College on the afternoon of Friday 7th February. The Pelleas Ensemble will stage a concert themed for the students with demonstrations and interactive exchanges. The student will then be able to attend the Saturday concert with an adult free for them both.
