Darlington Music Society’s next concert is on Saturday 2nd November at the Dolphin Centre 7.30pm. The concert is by the Gildas String Quartet who will play pieces by Purcell, Britten and Janacek.

About the performers:

The Gildas String Quartet have played to critical acclaim at major venues including the Bridgewater Hall, Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall and on BBC Radio 3. They have been praised for their ‘energy, verve and refreshing approach’. At the Franz Schubert and Modern Music International Competition in Graz, Austria, they won first prize in the Audience Engagement Award in 2018. The Gildas String Quartet have given recitals at International Festivals at Oxford, Kings Lynn and Cheltenham. They have frequently been featured by the Park Lane Group concerts for young artists.

The Gildas Quartet were semi-finalist at the International Chamber Music Competition at Melbourne in 2018, and they have recently returned from a tour of China.
