Whether you draw every day or haven’t picked up a pencil or crayon since you were a child, join in this free fun event to rediscover the joys of drawing.

For one day only, the Bandstand in South Park will become a vibrant creative hub. Come and contribute to a huge community artwork which will evolve as the day unfolds or pop-in to produce your own mini-masterpiece!

The rich natural environment and elegant Victorian bandstand will provide inspiration for your visual imagery. Experiment with a variety of drawing materials which will be available for you to explore.

Artist Rita Smith, with friends from The Arts Society North Yorkshire & South Durham and Darlington Culture Volunteers, will be there to help you. This is a big free event (photo is of a similar event held at Head of Steam) and all ages and abilities are welcome. Bring a picnic and stay for the whole day or drop-in to draw for a short while.

It’s a chance to enjoy the boundless possibilities of drawing.
