If the first page of your novel doesn’t captivate and entice readers (and publishers) no matter how great the rest of your book is it will languish either or books shelves or, worse, your laptop for all eternity.
So, join local novelist, creative-writing tutor and author of the Celtic Colours trilogy Tracey Iceton for a ‘first pages’ surgery that will help you polish page one to perfection.
The session will focus on opening lines and exploring in detail options for starting the narrative eg, using dialogue, introducing characters, setting scene and getting to the trigger (a recap from the first session). This session is ideal for those planning/writing a novel.
Price: £7 per person. Advanced booking required.
Place: Institute Room, Friends Meeting House, Skinnergate
Date and time: 26th May 9.30am-11am
