balletLORENT‘s award-winning team returns to Darlington Hippodrome with an original version of the beloved tale Rumpelstiltskin, directed by Liv Lorent and rewritten by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.

Full of action and humour this emotionally rich fairytale is set in a world of sheep, straw, wool and spinning where the alchemist Rumpelstiltskin is an outcast until he is revealed to be “the true prince that he was”.

This is dance theatre for the 21st century, and the show is as much for adults as it is for children. balletLORENT has been working with local primary schools and other groups to find an intergenerational community cast of eight children aged 4-9 years and four people aged 65+ who will feature in the production – including two Darlington Culture Volunteers!
