Art provides the ideal prompt – characters, plot, setting. Look into art and draw on your own experience and imagination to write. Who knows what story or poetry will evolve?

This workshop will be run by Susan Chapman, co-ordinator of ‘Prompted To Write’ group, and it arises from the group’s interest in Spennymoor artist, Norman Cornish, who painted characters around him. Members of ‘Prompted to Write’ engaged in a response to a Norman Cornish exhibition with stories, poetry and limericks.

Art also inspired a Modern Fable (Mary Atkinson), which is a poem shortlisted in the third Crossing the Tees anthology.
