Classical guitarist Miloš Karadaglić will perform at Darlington Hippodrome on Tuesday 24th September.

Miloš is back with his fourth studio album, and his first recording since 2016, poignantly entitled Sound of Silence which is set for release on 13th September on Decca Classics.

Miloš is a world-renowned classical guitarist who grew up in Montenegro and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. After that he was soon selling out major concert halls and topping music charts around the world, and in 2012 he gave the first ever solo guitar recital at the Royal Albert Hall.

His most recent album, Blackbird – The Beatles Album, included star-studded duets with Gregory Porter, Tori Amos, Steven Isserlis and Anoushka Shankar, and received unanimous acclaim.

Shortly after releasing that album, he suffered an extreme hand injury. So from the highest point in his career, the multi-award-winning musician reached the lowest point in his life, and that inspired the new album.

Sound of Silence is Miloš’s personal reflection on a diffilcult time. It includes classical guitar pieces he played while rebuilding himself, as well as beautifully varied songs he listened to when he had to rest. Songs like Portishead’s ‘Sour Times’, Radiohead’s ‘Street Spirit’ and Leonard Cohen’s ‘Famous Blue Raincoat’ sit alongside guitar pieces by Pujol and Tarrega. Star saxophonist and friend, Jess Gillam joins Miloš for two melancholic duets, as well as hang player and regular collaborator of Björk, Manu Delago for a very special take on the classic song ‘Nights in White Satin’. The whole record is a snapshot of an outstanding artist and his musical gifts at a critical moment in his life and career.
