About the performers:
The Alkona String Quartet are well known for their warm connection to audiences and vivacious performances. They were Tunnell Trust Award Holders 2020 – 2021. They have performed in many leading venues including St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London; St; John Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. They were New Generation Artists at the Stift International Music Festival 2019 and residents at Brel in the same year. They were featured at the Lake Distreict Summer Music Festival in 2020 and they performed the closing concert for the Huygens Festival 2020 which was broadcast live on Dutch TV. They performed at the Koroni Festival in Greece, and are the debut performers of Project Strings which is an exciting initiative which sees quartets share their love of Chamber Music in schools throughout the country.
