The next concert of the Darlington Music Society will be on Saturday 12th March at the Dolphin Centre. It is going to be given by the Barbican String Quartet. They will be playing pieces by Beethoven, Haydn and Bartok.
About the Performers
The Barbican String won 1st prize at the Joachim International Chamber Music Competition in 2019 as well as the 2018 St. Martin in the Field’s Chamber Music Competition. They made their Wigmore Hall debut in 2017 due to the Maisie Lexis Award. They have appeared in such festivals as Peasmarsh Festival, Vibre! Quatuors at Bordeaux, France. De Zeister Muziekdagen in Holland & Montreal International String Quartet Academy. Their performances have been broadcast on NPO Radio 4 and BBC Radio 3.

A limited number of tickets can be obtained at the concert and they have a bank card reader this year! People 25 years of age and under can come to Darlington Music Society concerts for free! This is a scheme of the ‘CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust’ – in the hope that they ‘catch the music bug’ so-to-speak! Face coverings cannot be mandatory now, though you may still wish to wear one, especially when walking about. Seating will be well spaced out!
